IELTS

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a test of English proficiency that is accepted by most colleges, universities and government organizations for admissions, work and the immigration purposes. The test covers all the four skills of English language; Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking with a brand score of 1to 9 for each individual section. IELTS has two modules: Academic and General Training. The Academic is for the candidates who wish to pursue their higher education whereas the General is for the purpose of work, immigration and training requirements abroad. The IELTS test format is as follows:

The students at CORONA have an unlimited access to the Access Center (CORONA LAB) to practice all the skills. Every Friday, full tests are administered by the experienced faculties and the test papers are assessed by qualified examiners before they are returned to the students. The writing tasks are returned to the students with teachers’ feedback for improvement. The final IELTS test is taken by the British Council. The students need to register for their test as per the availability of the date at the British Council as the test dates are announced in advance. Graduate Records Examinations (GRE)

The GRE Subject Tests
The GRE Subject Tests gauge undergraduate achievement in eight specific fields of study and can help forecast a candidate’s potential for success in graduate school. Each Subject Test is intended for students who have majored in or have extensive background in that specific area.

TOEFL

The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL®) is to evaluate English language proficiency of people whose native language is not English. It measures the ability of non-native speakers of English to use and understand English as it is spoken, written, and heard in college and university settings. TOEFL® scores are accepted by more than 6,000 colleges, universities, and licensing agencies in 110 countries.

Receiving high marks on an English proficiency test is the single most important thing that non-native English speakers can do to increase their chances of studying abroad. High marks on the TOEFL increase your chances of getting a student visa, getting into a good educational program, and (in some cases) of getting scholarships The test is offered now only in two formats: Internet-Based Test (iBT) and Paper-Based Test (PBT). Computer- Based TOEFL Test (CBT) is no longer available and iBT, the Next Generation TOEFL Test is getting more and more popular day by day.

ETS has made several changes to the TOEFL® test. The new test termed Internet Based TOEFL® (iBT) will assess four basic language skills: Listening, Reading , Writing and Speaking. The New iBT TOEFL® will have more accurate components of the English Language Skills needed for academic success and matches closely to the academic environment.

This latest version involves the mandatory speaking section, along with integrated tasks in both speaking and writing sections for the first time. It, however, does not have a separate grammar and structure section, as the use of grammar will be strongly evaluated in speaking and writing sections.

This is the oldest version of TOEFL Test, with some updates, delivered on the paper. Listening Comprehension measures the ability to understand English as it is spoken in North America . Structure and Language measures the ability to recognize language that is appropriate for standard written English. Reading Comprehension measures the ability to understand non-technical reading matter. Test of Written English (TWE) measures the ability to write in English on an assigned topic.

GMAT

Duration : 8 weeks
The Graduate Management Admission (GMAT) test is a computer based test formulated by ETS (Education Testing Service) and administered by the Graduate Management Admission Council. It is a fundamental criterion for admission into Graduate Management schools. The GMAT consists of a Verbal Portion, A Quantitative portion and an Analytical Writing Portion.

The following is a brief outline of the GMAT.
• The Verbal Portion
This portion consists of 41 questions to be solved in 75 minutes with the question types being Critical Reasoning, Sentence Correction and Reading Comprehension.
• The Mathematical Portion
This portion consists of 41 questions to be solved in 75 minutes with the question types being Problem Solving and Data Sufficiency
• The Analytical Writing Portion
This consists of 2 essays to be written in 1 hour. The essays involve the Analysis of an Issue and the Analysis of an Argument
